I'm all about red lips and I rarely switch to other shades, but lately I've been wearing non-stop this purple lipstick by MAC (Matte Heroine 93). Although I have to admit that when I first saw it in the store I thought "no way, it's not my colour", after looking at it for a while I decided to give it a go... and glad I did! It is the perfect touch to complement a relaxed look like this one. Now I know that you can't win if you don't try.

ES: Si de labios hablamos, mi gama es la del rojo, y rara vez cambio de color, pero últimamente este labial morado de MAC (Matte Heroine 93) es uno de mis más usados. Aunque debo admitir que apenas lo vi en la tienda pensé "de ninguna manera, no es mi tono", luego de mirarlo por un tiempo decidí probarlo... y suerte que lo hice! Es el toque perfecto para complementar un outfit relajado como este.

Last Sunday I found some brochures from one of my trips to New York, which reminded me my morning strolls through Central Park, the nights at Times Square, the visits to the various museums and the tediousness of packing.That was when I thought about doing a post about some of my makeup essentials and giving you tips on what to pack to travel light.                                      

ES: El domingo pasado encontré unos folletos que traje de mi último viaje a New York y recordé esos días paseando por el Central Park, las noches en el Times Square, las visitas a los distintos museos y lo engorroso que es armar una valija. Fue ahí cuando se me ocurrió realizar este post acerca de algunos de mis makeup esssentials que llevo en todos los viajes y tips sobre qué empacar para viajar liviano.

Summer 2015 Favourites

Summer is almost over and just like in the other seasons here are mi most-used beauty and makeup products during these past months. Besides, it's been a while now since my last beauty post.

Welcome 2015!

Happy New Year guys! (better late than never) I apologise for being absent for such a long time, I have been busy with university, work and other extracurricular activities such as french and dance classes. Fortunately, for me, I am already on vacations and what's more important, back on the blog with more ideas and outfits to show you. 

To start the two thousand fifteen I decided to do my first haul with the little presents that Santa left me under the Christmas tree the past December. I have to admit that surprises and the idea of not knowing what I will find inside a bag or under the wrapped paper are one of the best feelings that, even with the passage of the years I still enjoy just as much as when I was a kid.

ES: Feliz Año Nuevo! (mejor tarde que nunca), me disculpo por haberme ausentado tanto tiempo, estuve ocupada con la universidad, el trabajo y otras actividades extracurriculares como clases de francés y danza. Afortunadamente para mi ya estoy de vacaciones y, lo que es más importante, de regreso en el blog con muchos más tips y outfits para mostrarles.

Para comenzar el dos mil quince decidí hacer mi primer haul con los regalos que me dejó Papá Noel bajo el arbolito el pasado diciembre. Tengo que admitir que me encantan las sorpresas y la idea de no saber con qué me voy a encontrar cuando abra la bolsa o quite la envoltura de los obsequios, eso es algo que me provoca mucha alegría y que, aún con el pasar de los años, sigo disfrutando tanto como cuando era chica.

Sunday Treat: Purifying Mask

The skin is one of the most important parts of our body and how you take care of it will be reflected in your appearance. There are many different ways of doing so, such as cleaning your face every day, moisturiser it and even by drinking a considerable amount of water, which will help to remove impurities and give it a florid look.                                               Today I want to introduce you something that I have been using for a while now, the Estée Lauder Perfectly Clean purifying mask, which is ideal for normal to combination skin types. I use it twice a week by applying it with my fingers all over my face avoiding the eye area, I leave it for 3 or 5 minutes and then rinse it. Also, it can be used as a cleanser but since I already have another, which I am really satisfied with, I prefer to use it as a mask at night.

Honestly, there is nothing that I dislike about it, it smells good and it does a great job. My skin looks softer, healthier and it glows more than before I started with this routine. So if you are searching for a facial mask to go with your normal-oily skin this one by Estée Lauder is definitely an option to consider.

ES: La piel es una de las partes más importantes del cuerpo y cómo la cuidamos se refleja en nuestra apariencia. Hay muchas maneras de hacerlo: limpiándola todos los días, humectándola correctamente y hasta tomando una cantidad considerable de agua que eliminará  impurezas y le dará un aspecto lozano. 

Hoy les quiero presentar  un producto que he estado usando desde hace un tiempo: la máscara purificadora de Estée Lauder "Perfectly Clean", ideal para pieles normales a mixtas. Yo la uso dos veces por semana aplicándola con los dedos y evitando la zona de los ojos, la dejo de 3 a 5 minutos y enjuago. También puede ser usada como limpiador pero dado que ya tengo otro, con el cual estoy más que satisfecha, prefiero usarla de noche como mascarilla.

Honestamente no hay nada que me desagrade de ella:  huele bien y hace un muy buen trabajo. Mi piel luce más suave, sana y hasta brilla mucho más. Así que si están en la búsqueda de alguna máscara para pieles normales con tendencia a grasa ésta es, definitivamente, una opción para tener en cuenta.

My Secret To an Oil-Free Skin

Having an I-just-came-out-of-the-gym look it is not nice at all and, although I used to have it due to the shine of my oily skin now I can happily say that it belongs to the past. I have tried many moisturisers but no one did such a good job as this one, so if you have the same issue as me I highly recommend you to try EFFACLAR MAT by La Roche-Posay. And problem solved!

ES: No es lindo tener la cara con aspecto de recién haber salido del gimnasio porque da una imagen desaliñada  y, aunque yo solía tenerla por culpa del exceso de brillo de mi piel grasa, ahora puedo decir felizmente que pertenece al pasado. He probado con muchísimas cremas pero ninguna ha hecho tan buen trabajo como ésta, así que si tienen  el mismo problema que yo les recomiendo EFFACLAR MAT de La Roche-Posay ¡y solución definitiva!

My Everyday Makeup Tutorial

Since I was a little kid I have been interested not only in fashion but in the cosmetic world too and since this blog is a mix of both of them I have decided to show you my daily makeup routine in a quick video. And I mean quick. Now I must admit that filming is much more difficult than shooting, but given that this is my first one I did it quite well. In the clip you will find not my whole routine but the most important part of it: the eyes and lips. It is ultra simple, easy to do and the best part is that it doesn't take too much time, which was one of the reasons why I wanted to do the video and to show you that even if you don't know much about the subject you can still put it in practice.

As in my outfits, neutral colours are key when it comes to my everyday makeup. Brown palettes are my favourites and lately I have been using Modern Metallics 22Q Chai Latte quad by Maybelline, applying the lightest colour (a cream) to all my upper lid, and then a darker one to my crease. Afterwards, it comes the Master Precise liquid eyeliner and the Colossal cat eyes mascara, both by Maybelline. Finally, I apply a dark rose or a mate bordeaux lipstick, in this case, I used Vintage Pink by Rimmel, but I like to change it throughout the days in order to not get bored, so it is something that depends on my mood.

ES: Desde pequeña me interesé por el mundo de la moda y de la cosmética y dado que este blog es un mix de los dos, decidí mostrarles rápidamente mi rutina de maquillaje diario a través de un vídeo.

Debo admitir que filmar es mucho más difícil que sacar fotos, pero éste es el primero que hago y no creo que me haya salido tan mal. Allí encontrarán sólo la parte más importante de mi rutina: ojos y labios. Es ultra simple, fácil  y lo mejor, es que no toma mucho tiempo, una de las razones por la cual quise hacerlo y además para evidenciar que no se necesita saber mucho del tema para ponerlo en práctica.

Al igual que en mis outfits, los colores neutros son claves cuando se trata de un maquillaje para todos los días. Las paletas con tonos marrones son mis preferidas y últimamente he estado usando mucho el cuarteto Modern Metallics 22Q Chai Latte de Maybelline, aplicando el color más claro (un cremita) en todo el párpado superior y luego, un marrón oscuro en el pliegue del ojo.Seguido a eso aplico el delineador líquido Master Precise y la máscara de pestañas Colossal Look Felino, ambos de Maybelline. Finalmente, utilizo un labial mate en un rosa viejo o bordeaux, en este caso usé el Vintage Rose de Rimmel, pero es algo que me gusta cambiar a medida que pasan los días para que no se torne aburrido, pero básicamente depende del momento.
